Reunion

by Donna Fuller on 02/12/21

From John (PREZ)

Second Battalion, Third Marines Vietnam Veterans Association

This has been an extraordinary year during which many of us have dealt with unexpected deaths, health, social, and financial challenges. This year has also left me with a deeper appreciation and gratitude for the things in life that matter most: family and friends, neighbors and community, and warmth in the company of the people we care most about. We have all been reminded of the importance of our relationships, and that includes our relationship with each of our members in our organization.

Over the past year, I have been awed by how many people everywhere have risen to the occasion through kindness and caring, acting as forces for good within their families and society. And let’s also remember the importance of finding silver linings and moments of joy.

Last year’s reunion in St. Louis was cancelled due to the anticipated and uncontrollable spread of the Corona virus that was ravaging the nation. The infectious rate has risen exponentially, especially in my state and throughout the country. We are still scheduled for St. Louis this year; however, all the company representatives and elected officers must meet and discuss how to proceed in the next few weeks. Additionally, we must elect new officers as per our by-laws, so anyone interested in any of the positions, please give it some serious consideration.

I am hopeful that this year’s reunion will go as planned, but we must be prepared in the event we can’t proceed. My primary concern is the welfare and well-being of all members of the organization and we must decide accordingly. Randy Shierman, Art Ferguson and I will keep you informed.

From Mick Hughes

by Donna Fuller on 11/30/20

From Mick:

Greetings Marines,
I hope you are all aware of the "Double Down" donation offer made by  L/Cpl. Bob Parsons and his wife Renee.  He has pledged to match any donation made to the Semper Fi Fund (the Fund) up to $10 million by 31 December 2020.
In an effort to "sweeten the pot" I offered, in an e mail sent to many of you, to match all donations to the Fund up to a maximum of $1,000 if received by 15 December 2020.
I am happy to write that y'all donated $1200.  So today, $2200 was sent to the Fund.  THANK YOU DONORS!
I am also happy to report that a generous anonymous 2/3 Marine (R.V.N.) has offered up to another $1,000 to match your donations.
A donation list with first initial, last name and amount will be posted to this message board in January 2021.
Thanks for your generosity Marines.  The Fund is just over $3.5 million.  The goal is $10 million by 30 December 2020.  If you'd like to donate, sit down and write a check to the Semper Fi Fund and send your check to me.  Contact me for more details.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Semper Fidelis.

Dues From Fergy

by Donna Fuller on 11/16/20

Marines,

Please review your Membership status on our website:  Second Battalion Third Marines Vietnam Veterans Association.

First you will need to click on the About us section of our Website.

Second, you will need to click on Business

Third, you will need to click on the Finances section, this will bring up the Deferred Income
section of our Web-site.  This will tell you who has paid there dues and how far they are
paid up too.

If you are not on that list, you are not considered a member and will not receive flowers from 2/3 in
the event of your death.  Both myself and John Fuller paid for the flowers for Hillbilly Croft even though
he was not a paid up member.

We are a proud bunch of Marines, but at $5.00 per year for dues, I don't think it is asking to much to
pay for your dues.

You will need to pay your dues to 2/3 Vietnam Veterans Association
                                                 1437 W. Utopia Rd.
