The following comment from Ken Honeycutt was submitted to your blog:
"Pete was to me the first friend that befriended me at my first 2/3 Reunion in Charleston. So my time with Pete was limited to two Reunions, however, I will never forget this wonderful man. After spending several funny hours with him I will remember him for his humor and love for his fellow man. Rest in Peace Brother Pete. Semper Fi and My Love Ken "

Subject: | Pete Lindley Died |
Message: | Ili Lindley called me a couple days ago to share that Pete had a massive heart attack at the Oregon State Fair. He couldn't be revived at the hospital. His graveside service is at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR on 9/11 at 11 a.m. My brother Patrick (Army Chaplain, Major, Retired) is officiating on my request. I cant' get out there at this time. I live in Buffalo, NY and have two part-time jobs. If you write me I can send it on to my brother to be read with family and shared with Ili, Pete's wife. Pete was a good Marine. His first tour we served together in 81's along with Dave Smith, Alvin Simpson,, Fred Hellman, Mike Donahue, and myself. Pete served another tour afterwards as he was enlisted for four years. Donahue, Lindley and myself grew up in Portland, Oregon! |
