Marines

We need your input on the upcoming reunion in St. Louis, MO.

I have visited with our President, John Fuller and our Vice President Randy Shierman. All three of us are very concerned about the Corona Virus (Covid-19). We all feel that we would have a very hard time dealing with it if anyone of our Association Members contracted the virus and died as a direct result of our reunion.

First, they still haven’t come up with an anti-virus drug that we could take prior to our reunion. It could be over a year before it would be ready due to the tests to make sure it is safe for the public.

Second, I would like for our members to put yourselves in our position before you decide whether or not to continue on with our reunion in St. Louis, Missouri.

I know a lot of us have this Marine attitude that we are still bullet proof. I am one of you, but this is an invisible enemy and many of us have Diabetes, Lung problems and at our age, we are in a high- risk category.

We need to hear from you whether you want to attend our reunion this year. If not we will cancel our plans to go to St. Louis this year and will go there the following year. That way the anti-virus serum will be available to combat this virus.

We need your input, Please send me an e-mail at clydesdadfergy@aol.com with your response no later than Friday, April 17, 2020 so we can make an informed decision.

Thank you for your input on this situation. Sincerely,

Art (Fergy) Ferguson
Treasurer
2/3 Vietnam Veterans Association.

Fergy; I don't know the answer to the Reunion being cancelled... I would say when in doubt, lets wait it out, and see what the virus does in the next 2 months --by June. We might be to hasty, after all they might find a medicine by then (I hope so! ) If not then we cancel.
