Obituary

Rodney James Radich, 64 of Duluth, passed away peacefully with his wife, Patricia Jo, in his arms and his family by his side, on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in Solvay House.

Rod was born on October 8, 1947 to parents Mike and Agnes (Schimetz) Radich. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in Duluth.

Rod joined the Navy in 1966. He served as a Corpsman in Vietnam and was in the Hotel Company 2nd battalion and joined the SLF. Rod was awarded two purple hearts and a bronze star during his service to his country.

Rod worked on the Duluth police force for 19 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and Purple HeartAssociation , and a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Duluth.
Rod loved traveling with his wife and members of his Platoon. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol.

Rod is survived by his wife, Patricia Jo; son, Kyle (Kristin) Radich; daughter, Kristine (Ryan) Thiede; grandchildren, Kaden, Nolan, and Kali; sister, Delores (Ernie) Hassel; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10 am until the 11 am memorial service on Friday, November 25, at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 N 56th Ave W, in Duluth. Private family inturnment will be at Oneota cemetery.
