Richard D. Koehler Jr.

Rock, formerly from Fox 2/3 was killed in an auto accident in December of 2005. Below is a copy of his obituary as it appeared in the Lexington Herald-Leader.


KOEHLER Richard D. Jr., 62, died Sun., Dec. 11, 2005. He was the President and majority shareholder of First Access Capital Corporation and Smart Fuels, Inc. From 1990 to 1997, Mr. Koehler co-founded Jetfleet Management Corp. (JMC), an aircraft equipment financing management and marketing company that currently manages Aerocentury Corp. (ACY), a publicly traded company on the American Stock Exchange. From 1981 to 1996, Mr. Koehler was President and majority stockholder of Northwest Securities, Inc., CKS Securities Corp. and Crispin Koehler Securities and registered with the NASD as a securities principal. From 1971 to 1981, Mr. Koehler was employed by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). While at the NASD, he was selected as the Director of the Kansas City Regional Office and the Assistant Director of the San Francisco office. He also served for four years as national coordinator over all anti-fraud actions brought by the NASD. In 1965, Mr. Koehler received a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Thiel College in Greenville, PA. After college, he served as an infantry officer in the US Marine Corp. While serving in Vietnam, Capt. Koehler earned the Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V". Survivors are his wife, Jana Koehler; two sons, Richard David (Raughley) Koehler III, Reno, NV, and Timothy Paul Koehler, San Francisco; a stepdaughter, Virginia (Bradford) Wills; grandchildren, Brennan, Colin and Savannah; and numerous cousins and friends. Funeral services will be 11 am Thurs. at Faith Lutheran Church by Pastor Ronald Luckey. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 9 pm Wed. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Main Street. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church, 1000 Tates Creek Road, Lexington, KY 40502 or Thiel College, 75 College Avenue, Greenville, PA.
